Abdifatah Ahmed Mohamed | Ethiopia Abdifatah Ahmed Mohamed is founder and executive director of the Somali Deaf Development Association, based in Jigjiga, Ethiopia. He is also an inclusive education and sign language instructor with more than 10 years of experience working with the disability community. He is knowledgeable about providing special care to pupils with severe hearing, vision, and learning challenges and about developing educational programs and lesson plans that take into account children's learning styles, interests, imaginations, and skills. Abdifatah holds a bachelor's degree in Public Administration and Development and a master's degree in Early Childhood Care and Education. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, he hopes to bring significant change to the lives of children with disabilities in Ethiopia. His ultimate goal is to ensure that every child with a disability in the Somali region of Ethiopia gets a high-quality education that meets his or her learning interest. He will raise social awareness through public social gatherings, local media, social media, and training sessions in schools and community settings.
